New UNITS!!

Hi! I know you all have been working hard finishing up your posters on the evolution of the Native American cultures. In Georgia Studies, we'll continue to look at the development of the Native American cultures and how they were impacted by early European exploration and settlements. We will explore early events in our state's history and learn about influential people of the colonial period.
In English Language Arts, we've begun distinguishing the characteristics of expository text from narrative texts using graphic organizers. We'll continue studying SENTENCE STRUCTURE, TYPES OF SENTENCES, and PARAGRAPH ORGANIZATION. Your homework will depend on classwork. Tonight's homework is completing the TOPIC SENTENCES/Newspaper Articles Handout Activity. Tomorrow and Thursday, for homework,we'll continue using our THIEVES reading strategies to look for main ideas in informational text. Work will be sent home with you. No homework on Friday!
Keep reading your AR books! Library day is Friday!! You will be retaking your STAR reading and setting new goals for the upcoming nine weeks. Remember this is part of your grade.
Please visit the following websites for practice with expository writing and organizations of sentences and paragraphs. Let us know if you need any help! Have a great week!!
