3. His barbershop was called “The Crystal Palace,” because it had several crystal chandeliers, large mirrors, and plate glass windows in it.

5. He formed the Atlanta Life Insurance Company.
6. He married Adrienne McNeil, an actress whose stage name was Ann DuBignon. She was also head of the drama department at Atlanta University.
7. He had murals in his home, each depicting a stage in his life.

Additionally, students will discuss why they felt her grandmother told her the story of Brer Snake and Brer Rabbit. Include biographical information about Joel Chandler Harris (Uncle Remus Stories).
