Students will type their paragraphs into the computer to publish and submit to the teacher electronically. They will choose their best paragraphs for submission using te rubric provided them. Alternatively they can use time in class to read AR books from today's library visit.

Lesson
Students will create a Concept Map on the Cast of Characters in the Call for Independence of the royal colonies. Students will read section 5.3 and complete Guided Reading Activities. Students will discuss the importance of the Georgia Gazette and passing along of information.
Task
Students will complete their first article for their Georgia Gazette poster from the TIC TAC TOE review of ideas board.
Closer
Students will view online resources and newspapers for current events and THINK PAIR SHARE their opinions of the articles.

Students will view online cartoons from the period and those in the textbook and discuss the importance of illustrations and public opinion.
Task
Students will work collaboratively with their partner on their 2nd article for the Georgia Gazette poster and to complete Guided Reading activities.

Students will view local newspapers and online CNN, etc. for local news articles. Students will complete a 3-2-1 for what they find.
