I am glad you all are back from your weekend and ready for more learning and fun!! :)
Take a look at the online resources and websites for CRCT practice this week. We'll be reviewing some of the things we have been studying in class so far.

Monday
Warm Up
Identify pronouns and antecedents from list on the wall, board, or handout.

EQ: How do I identify pronouns and their antecedents? How do I indentify the different types of pronouns?
Opener/Mini Lesson
Students will complete a graphic organizer listing demonstrative, interrogative, and relative pronouns. Students will participate in guided practice in Ex. 6 #1-5.
Task
Students will continue Cooperative or Independent practice in identifying pronouns. Students will be given additional practice using Grammar Handbook accompanying exercises. Any work left incomplete will be assigned for homework.

Students will complete Whiteboard Rapid Review Activities and/or read from "The Island" by Gary Paulsen.

Warm Up
Listing interrogative, demonstrative, and relative pronouns on a 3 column chart for review.

Opener/Mini Lesson
Students will complete a graphic organizer listing INDEFINITE pronouns. Students will participate in GUIDED practice in Ex. 7 (1-5) with teacher and whole class.
Task
Students will complete COOPERATIVE or INDEPENDENT practice to finish Ex. 7. Whole class review. Students will work independently on additional practice exercises from their Holt Grammar Workbook. Any incomplete classwork will be assigned for homework.

Students will complete graphic organizers on ADJECTIVES. Students will be provided a handout of COLORFUL and DESCRIPTIVE words to review. Students will keep this in the WRITER's GUIDE section of their WRITER'S Notebook.
Task
Students will participate in GUIDED practice from Ex. 8 on Identifying Adjectives. Students will participated in Cooperative or Independent Practice to finish this exercise. Students will be allotted additional practice time to work in their Holt Grammar Workbook. Any incomplete classwork will be assigned as homework.

Adjective Review-Students will create a Frayer Model and provide the definition, examples, nonexamples, and using adjective in a sentence.

Students will review definitions and examples of demonstrative adjectives. Students will complete Ex. 9 in their textbook utilizing Guided Practice on (1-5).
Task
Students may work collaboratively on independently to complete this activity. Students are encouraged to use their graphic organizers for classwork, warm ups, and homework. Students will work independently on additional practice exercises from their Holt Grammar Handbooks. Any unfinished work will be assigned for homework.

Recreate TimeLine for Colonial Period of Georgia. Read "Signs of the Times".
Task
Chart names of French, Spanish, and English explorers. Allow students to research these explorers online and map their voyages on a world map. See map in this section.

Students will demonstrate a voyage of one explorer on the world map in the room.

Students will view a powerpoint on early explorations of Georgia. Students will use an outline map of the Southeastern U.S.to recreate DeSoto's last expedition. Students will complete an outline for their project to assist in looking for important information.
Task
Students will preview text and research Hernando DeSoto online. Students will complete a powerpoint and or poster on "Who was Hernando DeSoto?"
